How long has cocoa been around?
Even ancient civilizations such as the Mayas and Aztecs knew about the secret superpowers of cocoa. Based on the ground cocoa bean, the Aztecs developed a drink called "Xocolatl", which consisted of chili, vanilla and honey in addition to cocoa. It was mainly served at religious ceremonies and was a sign of luxury and wealth. As cocoa was also considered a gift from the goddesses, it was even used as currency. It was not until the Spanish and Christopher Columbus that the cult of cocoa and buying cocoa came to the western world. In the course of industrialization, cocoa developed into the drink as you know it - sweet, aromatic and really delicious.

Can you mix cocoa and coffee?
Can't decide between buying coffee and cocoa? Good thing you don't have to. Just like a cocoa bean, a coffee bean is gently roasted and ground into powder. Although the taste of coffee and cocoa is fundamentally different, the combination produces a very special aroma. In specialist circles, the fusion is also known as "café mocha". You simply take one third espresso, one third cocoa and one third frothed milk. A little cream on top - et voilà!
